And on Nashville Star, everyone is talking
about the Hackers – the brother and sister team that are BOTH in the
final stages of NS. Maybe that’s where the REAL country talent lies
year. Perhaps that’s where my time will be better spent to see new
country talent on TV this year. Tony Books - B93

ANGELA HACKER NEWS
Angela wins ‘Star’
Hacker sister will receive
contract with Warner Bros.
In the end, it came down the way many people
hoped it would, brother versus sister.
That’s exactly what happened early in the final
episode of “Nashville Star” when David St.
Romain, of Baton Rouge, La., was told he
received the least votes of the final three
contestants.
It would be another half hour before Zac and
Angela Hacker stood side by side on stage,
waiting to see who would be the next Nashville
star.
In the end, the nod went to the performer who
consistently received the most votes, Angela
Hacker. -

First CD Available at Wal-Mart April 3!
Warner Brothers Nashville is taking a
slightly different approach with a CD for the
new Nashville Star, Angela Hacker. The
first CD will be released on April 3,
exclusively at Wal-Mart. The album will be
called "The Winner Is" and will feature four
tracks penned by Angela, as well as cover songs
she performed on the show, and will also include
a cover of the Dan Penn track, "Do Right Woman,
Do Right Man," recorded by Aretha Franklin.
The album will also feature a track written by
FAME recording artist James LeBlanc and a duet
with her brother.
Three of the originals written by Angela include "Love
Me Wild," "Emotionless," and "Total Loss."
Some more good news is that not only will Zac
Hacker be doing a duet with Angela but he will
also be doing background vocals. The idea of this CD
is to get something quickly in the hands of the
fans and to give Angela something to tour
behind. Tracy Gershon of WBR describes it
as sort of a "promo" CD. Later in the
year there will be another CD from Angela, which
will be the "real" CD. Rather than rushing
this one as is usually done, they will take
their time in finding the right songs so that it
will really define who Angela is as an artist.
However there is a twist. Angela
approached WBR about doing the album as a duo
with her brother Zac and WBR jumped on the idea.
They will be recording an album as "The
Hackers." IN STORE NOW!!!
